Common questions
Which OBD adapter does Chase Baja work with?
Chase Baja is built and tested with the OBDLink MX+. It connects via Bluetooth LE and supports the full Ford PID set needed for live data and config changes.
Other ELM327-based adapters may work for basic data, but are not officially supported. Cheap adapters from Amazon frequently have firmware issues that cause connection drops.
My adapter won't connect. What do I try first?
1. Make sure the adapter is plugged into your OBD-II port and the ignition is on (engine on or accessory mode).
2. Open iOS Settings > Bluetooth and forget the adapter if it appears there, then let Chase Baja handle the pairing.
3. Force-close Chase Baja, reopen it, and tap Connect from the Status tab.
4. If the adapter has a power LED, confirm it is solid (not blinking) before connecting.
Which vehicles are supported?
Full support (live data + mods): F-150 Raptor Gen 3 (2021+), Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor.
Partial support (live data only): F-150 Raptor Gen 1 (2010–2014) and Gen 2 (2017–2020). Mod writes for these generations are disabled pending real-vehicle validation.
Will applying a mod void my warranty?
Chase Baja writes to the same module parameters that dealer scan tools access. Whether any particular change affects your warranty depends on your dealer and the specific mod. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act generally prevents dealers from voiding a warranty solely because you've made modifications — they must prove the modification caused the problem.
Every change creates a backup of your original settings first. You can restore factory values anytime from the Config tab.
How do I restore my original settings?
Open the Config tab, tap any applied mod, and choose Restore. Chase Baja stores a per-VIN backup before every write. You can also access all backups from Settings > Backup & Restore.
Why is my trip not recording in the background?
Background trip recording requires Always location permission. Go to iOS Settings > Chase Baja > Location and select Always.
Also check that Low Power Mode is off — it aggressively kills background processes.
How does Pro work? Can I restore my purchase?
Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription. It unlocks extended trip storage (300 trips, 2-year retention), larger backup limits, and priority support.
To restore a previous purchase, open Settings > Chase Baja Pro and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Is my vehicle data shared with anyone?
No. Trip data, OBD readings, VIN, and build log stay on your device. Chase Baja has no analytics, no crash reporting, and no user accounts. The only data that ever leaves your device is optional feedback you choose to submit. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
